Border Crossings There are 61 international and local
land border crossings with Italy, 47 with Austria, 4 with Hungary and 34
with Croatia. In addition to this Slovenia has three maritime and
three air border posts.

Visas and Passports A valid passport is sufficent for a visit to Slovenia on business or
as a tourist, provided your stay does not exceed three months. Citizens of
EU countries may enter Slovenia without a passport, provided they apply for
a tourist pass producing their identification card or other valid personal
document at the border. Anyone who is required to have a visa to enter Slovenia
may obtain one at the Slovenian representatives in their country.

Sea Transport No special limits are required to sail in Slovenian territorial waters.

Railway Transport Almost every town in Slovenia can be reached by train. International
train connections are also good. The most important passenger trains are:
the Eurocity Mimara linking Ljubljana with Germany and Italy, the IC Kras
and the IC Green trains.
Vehicle Insurance A green card (international vehicle insurance) must be carried
by all foreign drivers on their entry into Slovenia, with the
exception of those from countries with which Slovenia has a special
agreement. Foreign citizens without a green card may obtain
short-term insurance in Slovenia (52 DEM for 15 days, 75 DEM for 30 days).
