Dear Mark,

I believe that you have forgotten a real gem in Slovenia that few outsiders know. Actually, an American Congressman visited there within the last week -- so it must be of importance -- KOBARID !

You obviously know that it's museum has won first prize for being the best museum in Europe in 1991 -- all done with private money. It is the site where the famous American writer wrote about his exploits in the First World War -- A Farewell to Arms, by Ernest Hemingway. It is a very nice place to visit, beautiful scenery, peaceful way of life-makes one forget about the worries of a big city. Nice hike up to Mt. Krn, with a most breathtaking view of the Julian Alps. It was also shown on world wide television in October of 1992, on the 75th anniversary of the battle of the Soca, on CNN World Report.

I hope that I have conviced you to put a small article about this nice, quiet town, on the places in Slovenia Web page. If you have been there, you'll know what I mean!
