RED WINES: modri pinot, modra frankinja
WHITE WINES: laçki rizling,  çipon, sauvignon, beli pinot, renski rizling
WINEGROWING AREA: Bizeljsko-SremiŸ

Vino Bre§ice grows grapes on one hundred hectares (247 acres) of its own vineyards, but most of its wines are produced from fruit and must purchased from contract growers. Red wines used to be the staple product of the Bizeljsko-SremiŸ area, but contemporary taste is more in favour of white wines; therefore, the ratio of the winery's present output is 3:2 in favour of white wines.

Modra Frankinja, Modri Pinot, and ¦ametna ¬rnina are the winery's most important red grapes. Their choice of white grapes is very wide: Laçki Rizling makes up the largest proportion, followed by æipon, Rumeni Plavec, Chardonnay, Traminec, and Renski Rizling. Beli Pinot is rather rare, although this grape produces excellent wine in the area.

Red and white BizeljŸan are the winery's common blends, rated as quality wines. The winery also produces its own brand of CviŸek Marvin.

In the high-quality range, the winery's best and most consistent wines are varietal white wines, primarily Laçki Rizling and Beli Pinot; usually dry, these wines are fresh and display a moderate but well developed varietal bouquet. Modra Frankinja and Modri Pinot also consistently achieve the high- quality range.

Vino Bre§ice produces several sparkling wines. Grajski Biser is made from Laçki Rizling, æipon, and Beli Pinot and is processed in accordance with the Methode Charmat. The more prestigious series of Baron Moscon sparkling wines made the classic way (Methode Champenoise) is available in both red and white: the semi-dry red Baron Moscon is produced from Modri Pinot, the dry white is based on Chardonnay.

Vino Bre§ice is the only winery in Slovenia to produce a fortified wine similar to the wood ports of Portugal, a wine marketed as Portos Tawny.

     The best vintages from Vino Bre§ice are 1986, 1987, 1991, and 1993.
