The Šiker inn is well known to all who travel frequently between Maribor and Lenart - reputed for its well prepared traditional dishes and excellent wines from the estate's vineyards. Milan Šiker maintains the high standards of quality established by his father Jože Šiker, winner of numerous awards at wine fairs and a knight of the Burgerland-Pannonian Order.
Šiker's 1.8 hectares (4.45 acres) grow mostly white grapes traditional to the Maribor area: Laški Rizling is the dominant grapevine, and the winery is particularly well known for its Rumeni Muškat. Its Rizvanec is a consistent table wine. Modra Frankinja is Šiker's only red grape, producing a light wine of quality range.
Šiker's wines are rarely found in shops as most are sold at the inn. The estate has a deep wine cellar with a well maintained wine archive.
Rumeni Muškat has won most of Šiker's awards, and his Beli Pinot, Laški Rizling, and Muškat Otonel have also been regaled with gold medals in Ljubljana and Maribor.
Šiker's best vintages are 1983, 1985, 1986, 1991, and 1993.
