     The Radgonske Gorice winery cultivates three hundred hectares of vineyards in the Radgona sub-area. Modri Pinot is their only red grape and was only recently introduced. White wines are their staple product: Laški Rizling, Chardonnay, Šipon, Rizvanec, Renski Rizling, and Traminec. Their pride is the autochthonous Radgonska Ranina.

     They harvest 2100 tons of grapes annually, and a further six hundred tons are purchased from contract growers. In average years they produce 2100 hectoliters (55,482 gallons) of wines, 80% in the quality range and 20% high-quality.

     Janževec is their well known blended wine made from Šipon, Sauvignon, Renski Rizling, and Laški Rizling; 17,000 hectoliters (449,140 gallons) of this semi-dry, acid-rich wine are produced annually. The blend is very aromatic and ages well; good vintages achieve the high-quality range.

     The Radgonske Gorice winery is widely famous for its high-quality wines. Their most prestigious is Zlata Radgonska Penina, an outstanding sparkling wine produced in the classic way (Methode Champenoise) with manual remuage on wooden pulpitres since 1852. This wine is dry to semi-dry, extremely polite and smooth, with a gentle and lasting aroma; it has won a number of awards at wine fairs in Slovenia and abroad and can compete with the best of French champagnes.

     The Methode Charmat is used to produce Srebrna Radgonska Penina, a sparkling wine based on Šipon and Laški Rizling. Rich acids make this dry wine lively and refreshing, and many wine lovers choose it over the more prestigious Zlata Penina.

     The "black" Traminec is the most widely recognized of the Radgonske Gorice winery's still wines. It has been produced with constant high quality for decades, and its old-fashioned black label marks one of the most popular wines in Slovenia. Radgonske Gorice's "black" Traminec is always semi-sweet to sweet, extremely aromatic, with an overpowering varietal bouquet - this wine has won five Grand Gold medals at the Ljubljana Wine Fair.

     In good years, the Radgonske Gorice cellar produces a late harvest Traminec, a somewhat heavier wine, more balanced and very noble.

     It is not surprising that Radgonske Gorice consistently produces the best varietal Radgonska Ranina in Slovenia. Their regular harvest wine is semi-dry to semi-sweet, with a noble subdued bouquet and gentle taste. Their late harvest wine is richer and stronger with a discernible Botrytis fragrance.

     Other varietal wines from Radgonske Gorice also achieve the high-quality range: Sauvignon, Laški Rizling, and Šipon - the last two are frequently prepared as dry wines.

     The best vintages from Radgonske Gorice are 1981, 1983, 1992, and 1993.
