"Kristancic" is another family name very common in the Brda area. The winery of Andrej and Mirko Kristancic is smaller and less known than those of Ales and Mirko Kristancic (Movia) and Dusan Kristancic.
Grapes for Nando wines grow on the lower sites of the Medana sub-area around the village of Plesivo. Andrej and Mirko Kristancic work six hectares of their own vineyards which yield some sixty tons of grapes annually. Cabernet Sauvignon is their only red, as white varieties dominate. Chardonnay and Sivi Pinot are their priorities, while the traditional Rebula, Tokaj, Sauvignon, and Beli Pinot are a distinct minority.
The Nando winery produces three hundred hectoliters (7926 gallons) of wine annually - a little less than two thirds is in the quality range, and one third includes high-quality varietal wines. Chardonnay and Sivi Pinot are their consistently best, while their Sauvignon achieves good quality in warm years.
The best vintages of Andrej and Mirko Kristancic are 1993 and 1994.
