A kind of equality rules in Milan Kranjc's three hectares (7.4 acres) of vineyards on Lahonscak near Ivankovci, a site best suited to white varieties: Sipon, Laski Rizling, Kerner, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Sivi Pinot grow in equal proportions. The annual yield of grapes is twenty tons, and Kranjc produces 150 hectoliters (3963 gallons) of wines, all in the high-quality range.
Cellaring is strictly traditional, and the wines are fermented and matured only in aged oak barrels. The winery produces a number of special-quality wines: late harvest, izbor, and jagodni izbor.
Milan Kranjc has been bottling his own wines successfully since 1988, winning awards every year. Chardonnay is consistently his best and won silver medals at the Ljubljana Wine Fair every year from 1990 to 1995. His Laski Rizling won two silvers, and his Kerner also merits attention.
The best Kranjc vintages are 1991 and 1993.
