Rudolf and Marko Skocaj have eight hectares (19.8 acres) of vineyards near Ceglo, growing mostly traditional white grapes of the Brda area: Tokaj, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Beli Pinot. A rather recent specialty is their Chardonnay Muscat from a newly planted vineyard that produced its first wine in 1994. They also continue to maintain some very old vines of Glera, Trzanka, and Pika, ancient autochthonous varieties that have almost disappeared elsewhere. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Frank are their red grapes, a distinct minority. The Skocajs have been bottling their wines since 1989.
Dolfo rosé wines are quite well known. Two types are prepared: the classic rosé is made from the lightly macerated must of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Frank, and a somewhat fresher pink wine is Tokaj lightly coloured with Merlot.
The winery also produces two good barrique wines: red Merlot and white Chardonnay.
Chardonnay is the most successful of Dolfo's wines, fresh, and rather light. Their Sivi Pinot and Sauvignon have also won awards at wine fairs in Slovenia.
The best Dolfo vintages are 1989, 1990, and 1993.
