Constitutional Court determines the conformity of national legislation with the Constitution, the conformity of all other regulations with the Constitution and other laws, and makes rulings in disputes related to rights and obligations between the state and individual municipalities. If the Court determines that a particular law is not in accordance with the Constitution, the National Assembly must bring it into line with the Constitution within six months. Failing this, the law ceased to be valid. The Court is composed of nine judges, who are elected for a nine-year term of office and may not be re-elected. (more)
