BORIS BALANT AND GOS ("GOOSE") - GRAPHIC DESIGNERS
Boris Balant is one of the younger generation of graphic designers. He
has an attractive and unique designing language and has created the
design image for many respected Slovene companies such as Adria
Airways, Mobitel, and Smelt. In addition, he does the layout for the
prestigious art magazine Ars Vivendi. Like all his generation of
designers, Boris is in love with his Mac. The Macintosh computer has
united a considerable number of young designers who all use Macs and
meet from time to time to share their experiences, problems, and new
ways of using their Macs for design work. They call their group "Gos"
(Goose) and are frequently found in the Nostalgija pub that was
designed by two members of the group in nostalgic 1950's fashion.
Boris has recently moved to a new studio in an abandoned church : no,
his Mac is not on the altar, but he does buy the best possible
equipment on the market, as do the others from Gos. Each of their
designs is their own, fresh, young, and daring.
